How to edit text in a PDF
For the typo you noticed too late, the date that changed or the paragraph that needs a rewrite: open your PDF and edit its existing text directly.
Step by step
- Choose your PDF on the homepage. The file opens in the editor without an account.
- Click inside an existing paragraph to place your cursor. Type, delete or press Enter as you would in a document editor.
- Select the words you want to format. Use the toolbar for bold, italic, font size or color. The right-hand Text style panel has additional paragraph settings.
- Review the pages, then choose Download PDF. Open the downloaded file to check the result.
What happens when I add more text?
Text uses the available paragraph or column width. Longer paragraphs can move content below them and add pages to the exported document. Complex tables and layouts may need extra review.
Can I copy and paste formatted text?
Right-click in the text for Cut, Copy, Paste, Paste with formatting or Insert link. Paste uses plain text. Paste with formatting keeps supported styles. If clipboard permission is unavailable, use your keyboard shortcut.
Will the downloaded text still be selectable?
Yes. Edited words are saved as real PDF text with embedded fonts, so selection, copying and search work without OCR. Original artwork is preserved; unsupported fonts or layouts show an error instead of converting the page to an image.
